Halloween: The Game Weapon Levels and Progression

Weapon Level as the fourth XP track, milestone rewards, and what weapon specialization actually unlocks.

Weapon Levels and Progression

Weapon Level is the fourth progression track in Halloween: The Game alongside Profile, Killer, and Civilian levels. It advances specifically when Michael Myers eliminates victims using a given equipable starting weapon, and it is tracked independently per weapon rather than per match or per session. This page explains how the system works, what milestone rewards are confirmed, and what the practical implications are for players who want to specialize. Pair this with Play as Michael Myers for how weapon choice fits into the stalking loop, and with Weapons for the full confirmed weapon list.

Weapon Level as a progression track

The Weapon Level system was confirmed alongside the October 28, 2025 weapon reveal and reinforced through IllFonic’s September 2, 2026 progression overview. When Myers dispatches a victim with a specific starting weapon, that weapon earns experience toward its own level. The track is completely separate from Killer Level, Profile Level, and Civilian Level. Playing ten matches with the kitchen knife raises your knife level. Playing those same ten matches with a different weapon raises that weapon’s level instead.

Starting weapons are gated by Killer Level. You unlock a new starting option through Killer Level milestones, then select it and begin leveling it through use. The kitchen knife is confirmed available from account creation. Whether other weapons are also start-of-account options or are fully gated behind Killer Level milestones is a launch-day verification item.

The practical implication is that specializing in one weapon advances that weapon’s level faster than splitting time across multiple tools. If you want to earn weapon tint rewards quickly, staying with one weapon across sessions is the fastest path. Spreading time across three weapons means three tracks advancing more slowly.

What Weapon Level progression unlocks

The confirmed reward structure from the official progression overview is cosmetic tints for each weapon. Earning weapon level milestones unlocks earnable tints that change the visual appearance of that weapon without altering its gameplay properties. The progression overview confirmed tints as the reward structure. It did not confirm how many milestones exist per weapon, how long each track takes, or whether weapon level affects execution animations beyond cosmetic differences.

The August 2026 weapon and environmental execution showcase confirmed that different starting weapons produce different execution animations. Whether weapon level milestones change execution timing, hitboxes, or purely cosmetic elements has not been confirmed as of launch.

Treat weapon level milestones as cosmetic progression first. Do not assume damage changes, swing speed modifications, or range improvements until the live client displays those effects.

Milestone structure and suggested tracking

IllFonic has not published the full milestone table for any weapon. Based on the progression overview structure, weapon level milestones are likely sequenced gates similar to how Killer Level works — each milestone unlocks a new tint option for that specific weapon.

Track your weapon progression separately from your overall Killer Level. A practical approach:

WeaponCurrent LevelNext MilestoneTint Unlocked
Kitchen KnifeLevel 3Milestone 4Tint option 3 of unknown total
[Other weapon]Level 1Milestone 2Tint option 1 of unknown total

Until IllFonic publishes the complete milestone table, treat the tint count as unknown. Do not assume a specific number of milestones per weapon.

How Weapon Level compares to other progression tracks

Weapon Level is the only progression track that is both weapon-specific and earned exclusively through Michael Myers gameplay. Profile Level counts everything. Killer Level rises whenever you play Myers regardless of weapon. Civilian Level is per-character on the civilian side. Weapon Level is per-weapon on the Myers side.

This means a player who alternates between Myers and civilian roles is always building at least one track simultaneously. A player who mains Myers and alternates weapons is splitting Weapon Level progress across multiple tracks while building Killer Level on a single track.

The four tracks together are what IllFonic described as the reason completionists have their work cut out for them. There is no single bar that finishes the meta.

What is not yet confirmed about Weapon Level

The following items have not been published as of the September 8, 2026 launch:

  • Complete milestone table for any single weapon
  • Total number of milestones per weapon
  • Whether milestones affect gameplay beyond cosmetics
  • Whether execution animations change at specific weapon levels
  • Weapon level transfer or conversion when new weapons are unlocked

The in-game progression screen is the authoritative source for your specific weapon’s current level, milestone progress, and unlocked tints. This page will be updated as IllFonic publishes official milestone details.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How do I advance Weapon Level?

Play as Michael Myers and eliminate victims using a specific starting weapon. Each weapon tracks its own level independently. Using the kitchen knife for ten eliminations raises your knife level, not any other weapon's level.

What do weapon level milestones unlock?

Confirmed reward: earnable cosmetic tints for that specific weapon. The exact number of milestones per weapon and whether milestones affect gameplay have not been published.

Does weapon level affect damage or swing speed?

Not confirmed. Treat weapon level milestones as cosmetic progression (tints) until the live client displays gameplay-altering effects.

Can I level multiple weapons at the same time?

You can own multiple weapons and switch between them, but each weapon tracks its own independent level. Splitting time across weapons means each track advances more slowly.

Are weapon levels separate from Killer Level?

Yes. Killer Level rises for all Myers gameplay regardless of weapon. Weapon Level only advances for the specific weapon used during an elimination.

When do I unlock new starting weapons?

New starting weapons are gated by Killer Level milestones. The kitchen knife is confirmed from account creation. Other weapons require Killer Level progression to unlock.
